Brakes & Brake Repair

FACT: Regular, quality maintenance extends the life of your vehicle.

At Tanner Auto Repair Plus [TARP], we want our Blackshear customers to have the opportunity to feel comfortable in their vehicles. You can leave all the repairs and services to our fully qualified professionals. Call us today, and we will be happy to speak with you to reference any brake issues and corrective services you may require.

Anti-Lock Brake System
Anti-lock Brake Systems (ABS) ensure that the wheels don’t lock up and stop rotating during braking. This helps prevent the car from skidding and offers greater control. If your ABS light comes on, visit us and we will be happy to diagnose and fix any problems.

Brake Fluid Flushes
It is important to perform a brake fluid flush regularly to ensure that your vehicle is using fresh fluid. This is because brake fluid absorbs water from the air over time, causing the brake system to become less effective and more importantly the fluid to become corrosive, possibly damaging the brake system. Talk to our technicians and see when it’s time for a brake fluid flush.

Brake Hoses
If you get a crushed hose it can cause a lagged or slow brake, and a leak in the hose can cause the brake, or the entire brake system, to fail. The good news is these don’t need to be replaced often but should be replaced at the first sign of cracking or wear.

Financing with TECHNET Professional covers you for at least 24 months or 24,000 miles. Wherever you go, their warranty goes with you.

Brake Pad & Shoe Replacement
When you brake, you can get a squealing brake noise, it can usually mean you have a brake pad problem. If ignored your brake pads will deteriorate completely, and you’ll hear a grinding metal-on-metal sound when you brake. This means you’re ruining your rotors or drums with limited stopping power. Contact a professional immediately if you have brake problems as they can save your life.

Resurface Rotors
In a disc brake system, rotors are attached to your vehicle’s wheels. When the brake pads grip the rotor, it causes friction grooves, and cracks can appear over time. Resurfacing brings the rotor back to a “like-new” condition, reducing squealing and wobbling.

Caliper Replacement
A brake caliper problem could cause uneven braking, making your vehicle slide forward when you brake. Uneven braking can also cause your vehicle to slide out of control in bad weather conditions, so contact us as soon as possible if you have any concerns about this.

I was very please with their prices, so much so I was able to get a couple of accessories for my truck within the prices other shops had quoted.
